spacetime: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

spacetime AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from spencermountain/spacetime. It costs 1,064 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Project-specific instructions for Spacetime, a library for creating and reading objects that represent dates and times.

In plain words
What is it for?
They guide tasks involving Spacetime objects, including creating them, choosing constructor options, and reading their values.
Why use it?
They explain the library's important rules and interfaces so the assistant does not misuse its constructors or value accessors.

About the project

Spacetime is a lightweight JavaScript date and timezone library for calculating and formatting times across locations. It helps developers perform date arithmetic, convert between time zones, and account for daylight saving time, leap years, and related calendar rules. The catalogue entries provide a skill and an instruction for working with Spacetime.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01064 $0.01064
Opus 5.5 $0.00426 $0.00426
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00213 $0.00213
Haiku 4.5 $0.00106 $0.00106

Security

Grade A, and why

spacetime AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 21d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Spacetime

spacetime is a zero-dependency JavaScript library for working with dates across timezones. It does timezone math (DST, leap years, hemispheres) without the Intl API, and exposes a Moment-like, mostly immutable API.

See the usage guide for behavior and edge cases, and the API reference for public signatures.

Quick example

import spacetime from 'spacetime'

let s = spacetime('March 1 2012 3:22pm', 'America/New_York')
const time = s.time() //'3:22pm'
s = s.time('4:20pm') // modify the time
s = s.goto('America/Los_Angeles') // change the timezone
s.time() // '1:20pm'  (same instant, west-coast clock)

const dec31 = s.endOf('year')
const until = s.diff(dec31, 'days')

const out = s.format('{day-short} {month} {date-ordinal}, {time}') // 'Thu March 1st, 1:20pm'

Docs

  • start here - overview and task index
  • API - full method list
  • inputs - date/time parsing and supported formats
  • getters - getting specific datetime information
  • setters - modifying the datetime
  • formatting - customizable output formats
  • timezones - setting and changing iana zones
  • comparisons - utility functions on datetimes
  • plugins - extending or changing spacetime behaviour

Repository map

  • src/ — regular entry, instance implementation, parsers (input/), public methods (methods/), and timezone calculations (timezone/).
  • src/temporal/ — experimental Temporal-backed entry.
  • zonefile/ — timezone data and packing; scripts/tz/ updates the data.
  • builds/ — generated distribution bundles; change source rather than bundles.
  • types/ — public declarations;
  • tests/ — Tape suites grouped by behavior; plugins/ contains workspace packages.

Checks and builds

Run checks relevant to the change. Use a runtime with globalThis.Temporal for Temporal tests; CI uses Node 26 for tooling and tests the regular library on Node 18, 20, 22, 24, and 26.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
