mem0-oss-mcp AGENTS.md

mem0-oss-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from SteinX/mem0-oss-mcp. It costs 198 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository instruction guide for a small MCP bridge to a self-hosted Mem0 OSS REST server. It defines environment-variable rules, public tool names, safe deletion requirements, and testing expectations.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing the Mem0 bridge, adding protocol mappings, handling memory operations, or writing focused tests for those changes.
Why use it?
It helps an assistant preserve the bridge’s interface and avoid exposing credentials or deleting memories without a defined scope.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00198 $0.00198
Opus 5 $0.00099 $0.00099
Sonnet 5 $0.00040 $0.00040
Haiku 4.5 $0.00020 $0.00020

Measured 3d ago against content hash 8d1763c5d477, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

mem0-oss-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Instructions

This project is a small MCP bridge for the self-hosted Mem0 OSS REST server.

  • Keep it dependency-light. Prefer the Python standard library unless a real protocol gap requires a package.
  • Do not hardcode Mem0 server hosts, ports, API keys, or Codex tokens. Use environment variables.
  • Treat MEM0_OSS_API_KEY, MEM0_OSS_MCP_TOKEN, and real .env files as secrets.
  • Preserve the public MCP tool names expected by Mem0 clients: add_memory, search_memories, get_memories, get_memory, update_memory, delete_memory, delete_all_memories, delete_entities, list_entities, list_events, get_event_status.
  • Keep destructive operations scoped. delete_all_memories must require an explicit user, agent, run, or app scope.
  • Add one focused runnable test for any non-trivial mapping or protocol change.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
