In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when creating, editing, reviewing, exporting, or debugging slides through the figma-slides-mcp project.
Why use it?

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00441 $0.00441
Opus 5 $0.00220 $0.00220
Sonnet 5 $0.00088 $0.00088
Haiku 4.5 $0.00044 $0.00044

Measured 9d ago against content hash 4ae67d9e77a8, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

figma-slides-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

figma-slides-mcp

MCP server + Figma plugin for controlling Figma Slides from any MCP-compatible AI assistant.

Architecture

  • mcp/ — MCP server and Figma plugin source. The server bridges MCP clients and the Figma plugin sandbox via WebSocket on :3055.
  • assets/ — Logos, fonts, and images available for use in slides.

Important: Figma Slides API Gotchas

Before doing ANY work with Figma slides (editing, reviewing, creating, debugging), read the /figma-slides-api skill (.claude/skills/figma-slides-api/SKILL.md). It documents critical API pitfalls — e.g. using visible instead of isSkippedSlide to hide slides will silently break presentations.

MCP Server

The figma-slides MCP server requires the "Claude Code Slides" plugin running in Figma.

Tools:

  • execute — Run JavaScript in the Figma plugin sandbox (access to figma API, getSlide(), findSlides(), serialize(), loadFont())
  • screenshot_slide — Export a slide as PNG

Config (.mcp.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "figma-slides-dev": {
      "command": "node",
      "args": ["mcp/dist/mcp-server.mjs"]
    }
  }
}

Local Dev

npm install            # Install dependencies
npm run build:mcp # Build MCP server + Figma plugin
npm run dev:mcp # Watch mode for MCP builds

The checked-in .mcp.json registers the server as figma-slides-dev, running node mcp/dist/mcp-server.mjs directly, so run npm run build:mcp before starting an MCP client inside this repo. (Using npx @strand-ai/figma-slides-mcp here would resolve to this package's own bin, which npm does not link.)

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
