sdk-python: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

sdk-python CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from strands-compose/sdk-python. It costs 197 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Project-specific instructions for Claude Code in a Python software project that uses YAML files to configure agent orchestration.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when working on the strands-compose Python SDK and its skill setup. It covers creating links between the project's skill directories on Linux, macOS, and Windows.
Why use it?
Claude Code discovers skills in a particular directory, while this project stores them elsewhere. The instructions keep those locations linked so the expected skills can be found.

This is strands-compose/sdk-python's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on sdk-python itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything sdk-python configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00197 $0.00197
Opus 5.5 $0.00079 $0.00079
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00039 $0.00039
Haiku 4.5 $0.00020 $0.00020

Security

Grade A, and why

sdk-python CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

@AGENTS.md

Claude Code: skills setup

Skills live in .kiro/skills/<name>/SKILL.md. Claude Code only discovers them in .claude/skills/ (gitignored, local). Before starting any task, check that every .kiro/skills/<name> has a matching .claude/skills/<name>. If any are missing, create them without asking, as links to the .kiro folders (never copies):

  • Linux / macOS: mkdir -p .claude/skills && ln -sfn ../../.kiro/skills/<name> .claude/skills/<name>
  • Windows (PowerShell, no admin needed): New-Item -ItemType Junction -Path .claude\skills\<name> -Target .kiro\skills\<name>

Then tell the user to restart the session (or run /reload-skills) so the new skills load.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
