CLAUDE.md

Repo-Interrogator CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from taggedzi/Repo-Interrogator. It costs 1,658 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of project instructions for Claude Code, an AI coding assistant, in the Repo Interrogator repository. It explains the project, setup, formatting, checks, type checking, and tests.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when installing, formatting, linting, type-checking, building, or testing Repo Interrogator.
Why use it?
It gives the assistant and developers one place to find repository rules and commands. This reduces setup mistakes and inconsistent development practices.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01658 $0.01658
Opus 5 $0.00829 $0.00829
Sonnet 5 $0.00332 $0.00332
Haiku 4.5 $0.00166 $0.00166

Security

Grade A, and why

Repo-Interrogator CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md

This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.

Project Overview

Repo Interrogator is a local-first, deterministic MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that exposes safe, structured, read-only access to a single code repository over STDIO. It is not a CLI app, not a code-modifying agent, and makes no LLM calls. All indexing, search, outlining, and context bundling must be deterministic.

SPEC.md is the authoritative source of truth for behavior and intent. When guidance conflicts: SPEC.md > docs/ > code > AGENTS.md > CLAUDE.md.

Environment Setup

All Python commands must run inside the .venv/ virtual environment. Do not create, replace, or modify it — if it is missing, stop and ask.

# Developer install
python -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate # or .venv\Scripts\activate on Windows
python -m pip install -e .
python -m pip install ruff mypy pytest build

Commands

# Format (Ruff replaces Black — do not reintroduce Black)
python -m ruff format .

# Lint
python -m ruff check .

# Type check
python -m mypy src

# Run all tests
python -m pytest -q

# Run a single test file
python -m pytest tests/unit/adapters/test_python_outline_symbols.py -q

# Run tests with coverage
python -m pytest --cov

# Build package artifacts
python -m build

Agent Instructions

Use codebase-memory-mcp as the first tool for understanding this repository.

Before doing broad file reads, grep searches, or architecture exploration:

  • Query codebase-memory-mcp for relevant files, symbols, callers, callees, dependencies, and entry points.
  • Use graph results to narrow the search area.
  • Only read full files after identifying likely relevant targets.

Prefer codebase-memory-mcp for:

  • finding where a function/class/module is defined
  • finding callers and callees
  • tracing execution paths
  • identifying entry points
  • understanding project structure
  • impact analysis before edits
  • detecting dead or disconnected code
  • summarizing architecture

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
