gsap-transform: Instructions file for GitHub Copilot

.github/instructions/motion-anti-slop.instructions.md

gsap-transform motion-anti-slop.instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from taotao135791-bit/gsap-transform. It costs 551 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A checklist for reviewing GSAP animation code before it ships. It covers timing, easing, choreography, accessibility, performance, and visual composition.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps audit, lint, review, and improve animation code, especially when motion feels generic or machine-made.
Why use it?
It catches common problems such as missing reduced-motion support, inefficient event handling, hidden content when JavaScript is off, and animations that hurt performance.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00551 $0.00551
Opus 5 $0.00275 $0.00275
Sonnet 5 $0.00110 $0.00110
Haiku 4.5 $0.00055 $0.00055

Security

Grade A, and why

gsap-transform motion-anti-slop.instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

motion-anti-slop — path-specific instructions

Before shipping any GSAP code (or when the user asks "audit", "lint", "review", "this feels generic", "this feels AI-built"), walk through these seven groups. Any block-severity item must be fixed.

A. Duration tells — defaults too short (<200ms) or too long (>1.2s) for the motion mode.

B. Ease abuse

  • back.out(1.7), elastic.*, bounce.* as default ease. Only ONE branded character moment per page (block).

C. Choreography

  • C3: hover stack y:-8 + scale:1.05 + heavier shadow — pick ONE signal (warn).
  • C4: parallax on every section — earn one or two; rest hold still (warn).
  • C9: per-event gsap.to on mousemove/scroll — use gsap.quickTo instead (block).

D. Accessibility

  • D1: missing gsap.matchMedia() with prefers-reduced-motion branch (block — Pre-Flight Failure).
  • D2: scrub or pin under reduced-motion (block).
  • D7: JS-gated initial state (only set hidden via JS; with JS off, all hidden) (block).

E. Performance — animating layout properties (top, left, width, height) instead of transforms (block).

F. Composition

  • F5: AI-purple default + slate-900 (warn).
  • F6: single accent leak — declared accent doesn't match all uses (getComputedStyle mismatch) (block).

G. Wiring & loading silent failures

  • G1: gsap.from(autoAlpha:0) on CSS-hidden element animates 0 → 0 (block).
  • G2: pre-existing CSS transform on element animated by GSAP — start state ignored (block).
  • G3: cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/gsap/<Plugin>.js for browser ESM — module graph breaks (block).
  • G4: named imports of GSAP plugins from esm.sh resolve to undefined — use default imports (block).
  • G5: MotionPath / DrawSVG on <circle> / <rect> / <ellipse> — only <path> accepted (block).

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
