gsap-transform: Instructions file for GitHub Copilot

.github/instructions/motion-design-taste.instructions.md

gsap-transform motion-design-taste.instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from taotao135791-bit/gsap-transform. It costs 471 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Design guidance for building animated web pages with GSAP, a JavaScript animation library. It sets a visual direction and motion style before implementation begins.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when designing animated landing pages, portfolios, hero sections, or scroll-based stories. It guides choices such as fades, parallax, pinned scrolling, and animated typography.
Why use it?
It helps prevent generic animation choices by making the page's audience, visual character, density, and animation intensity explicit.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00471 $0.00471
Opus 5 $0.00235 $0.00235
Sonnet 5 $0.00094 $0.00094
Haiku 4.5 $0.00047 $0.00047

Security

Grade A, and why

gsap-transform motion-design-taste.instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

motion-design-taste — path-specific instructions

When the user asks for an animated landing page, portfolio, hero, scroll-driven story, or any animated frontend, before writing GSAP code:

  1. Output a one-line Design Read. Format:

    "Reading this as: <page kind> for <audience>, with a <vibe> language, leaning toward <aesthetic family> and <motion language>."

  2. Set three dials (1–10):

    • MOTION_INTENSITY — 1 = near-static, 10 = cinematic / pinned scrub / kinetic type
    • DESIGN_VARIANCE — 1 = symmetric / centered, 10 = asymmetric / overlapping
    • VISUAL_DENSITY — 1 = museum-grade whitespace, 10 = cockpit information
  3. Pick one motion mode based on the dials:

    • Restrained — autoAlpha fades, short stagger, no scrub. Default for B2B SaaS, public-sector, accessibility-first audiences.
    • Expressive — selective parallax, SplitText reveal on hero, one branded character moment.
    • Cinematic — pinned scrub, multi-layer parallax, kinetic typography, scroll-driven story.
  4. Avoid these LLM defaults unless the brief explicitly asks for them:

    • Inter for everything — pick from the aesthetic family's font pool
    • AI-purple gradients on dark mesh
    • Centered hero with H1 over a glowing radial blur
    • back.out(1.7) / elastic.* / bounce.* as default ease (only ONE branded character moment per page)
    • Parallax on every section (earn one or two; the rest hold still)
    • Hover stack of y:-8 + scale:1.05 + heavier shadow (pick ONE signal)
  5. Route to the right API skill using the decision table in skills/motion-design-taste/SKILL.md Section 9 — based on what plugins / framework / scroll behavior the brief implies.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
