Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.01300 | $0.01300 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00650 | $0.00650 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00260 | $0.00260 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00130 | $0.00130 |
Grade A, and why
cbs-open-data_mcp cbs_mcp.instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 62 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
CBS Open Data MCP – Usage Guide
Dataset Discovery
- Always use
filterwithcontains(Title,'...')orcontains(Description,'...')— never usesearch/$search(returns popularity-ranked, irrelevant results). - Use Title search when the topic keyword likely appears in table titles; use Description search when the keyword is domain-specific and may only appear in the table description.
- Use singular search terms — CBS descriptions contain both singular and plural forms, so searching both is redundant.
- Use specific terms; generic terms like
'energie'or'verbruik'return large, unfocused result sets. - Combine filters for precision:
contains(Title,'energie') and (Status ne 'Gediscontinueerd'). - Discontinued datasets are excluded by default.
Recommended Workflow
query_datasets(filter="contains(Title,'keyword')")→ start with a single validation call (no parallel, noselect) to find relevant table IDs and checkObservationCount.- (Optional) Explore structure when dimension names or measure units are unknown:
get_dimensions(dataset="IDHERE")→ dimension names and available codes.get_measure_codes(dataset="IDHERE")→ measure identifiers and units.
- Choose fetching strategy based on
ObservationCount:- < 10.000 obs:
get_observations()— auto-paginates, fetches everything. - ≥ 10.000 obs:
query_observations(filter="...")— applies server-side filtering. Always prefer this for large datasets.
- < 10.000 obs:
- If multiple candidate datasets exist (e.g. actueel vs. prognose), prefer the smallest one that still answers the question — server-side filtering on large CBS datasets is unreliable.
Parameter Naming
- The dataset parameter is always called
dataset(notid). - The catalog parameter defaults to
"CBS"— omit unless querying a different catalog. - Omit
selectunless you know the exact field names; unknown field names inselectcause a 400 error. If you needselect, introduce it only after a successful baseline query.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

cbs-open-data_mcp cbs_mcp.instructions.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository Tdh25/cbs-open-data_mcp (0 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 1,300 tokens to every session, about $0.0065 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
