tcxc-mcp-server: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

tcxc-mcp-server CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from TelecomsXChangeAPi/tcxc-mcp-server. It costs 728 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Developer instructions and a Python MCP server for TelecomsXChange, a wholesale telecommunications API. The server connects AI agents to services for voice termination, SMS, phone numbers, and account management.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to install dependencies, run or test the MCP server, and check code quality while developing the TelecomsXChange integration.
Why use it?
It documents setup, server startup, interactive testing, formatting, type checking, and automated tests in one place. This helps developers work on the integration consistently.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00728 $0.00728
Opus 5 $0.00364 $0.00364
Sonnet 5 $0.00146 $0.00146
Haiku 4.5 $0.00073 $0.00073

Security

Grade A, and why

tcxc-mcp-server CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

MCP server implementation for TelecomsXChange (TCXC) API integration, providing Claude and LLMs with access to wholesale telecommunications APIs for voice termination, SMS, DIDs, and account management.

Development Commands

# Setup
pip install -r requirements.txt # Install dependencies
pip install -e ".[dev]" # Install with dev tools (pytest, black, mypy)
cp .env.example .env # Create config from template

# Run server

├── server.py # FastMCP server entry point, creates TCXCMCPServer
├── client.py # HTTPX async client with digest auth, rate limiting, TLS hardening
├── config.py # Pydantic settings, loads from .env with TCXC_ prefix

Request Flow: FastMCP → tool function → TCXCClient → TCXC API

Key Design Patterns:

  • Async context managers for client lifecycle (async with TCXCClient(config) as client)
  • Rate limiting via semaphore + time-based throttling in client.py
  • Input validation with security checks before API calls (validate_phone_number, validate_search_prefix, validate_date_format)
  • Endpoint whitelisting in _make_request prevents path traversal

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
