Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Grade B, and why
claude-code-mascot-statusline AGENTS.md scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

AGENTS.md
This repository implements a Claude Code plugin that renders a pixel-art mascot in the Claude Code status line.
Primary Goal
Keep the mascot visually legible as a terminal sprite while preserving accurate session-state reporting.
The two failure modes to avoid are:
- Regressing sprite packs back into ASCII line art
- Regressing status detection back into
waiting/idlebecause runtime state is not being observed correctly
What Matters Here
- The mascot is defined as sprite data, not display strings.
- Status line rendering is a conversion pipeline from sprite grid -> terminal cells.
- Runtime state is best-effort and comes from two sources:
- Hook-persisted session state
- Transcript-derived fallback state from
transcript_path
If those disagree, newer data wins.
Architecture
src/lib/pack.tsLoads and validates pack manifests. Packs usespecVersion: 2and define fixed-size palette-index grids.src/lib/renderer.tsConverts a sprite frame into terminal output. Supportsbg-spaceandhalf-block.src/lib/transcript.tsParses transcript JSONL tails to infer current state when hooks are missing or stale.src/lib/state-machine.tsMaps hook events into abstract mascot states.src/cli/setup-helper.tsMerges bothstatusLineand mascot hooks into~/.claude/settings.json.
Non-Negotiable Product Rules
- Do not introduce
/,\\,(,),^,<,>style ASCII outline art as mascot content. - Do not store pre-rendered art strings in packs.
- Do not rely on plugin metadata alone to install status line behavior. Claude Code requires settings-level
statusLine. - Do not assume hooks are always configured. Transcript fallback must remain functional.
- Do not remove existing user hooks from
settings.json; merge mascot hooks alongside them.
Expected Workflow
When making changes:
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

claude-code-mascot-statusline AGENTS.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository TeXmeijin/claude-code-mascot-statusline (24 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 931 tokens to every session, about $0.0047 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (reads agent configuration directories). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
