CLAUDE.md

Ai-Agent-Context-Passoff CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, Codex from TheMrGU/Ai-Agent-Context-Passoff. It costs 248 tokens per session, scanned B, a copy of Ai-Agent-Context-Passoff AGENTS.md, MIT.

Repository instructions for setting up Passoff, a tool that saves and shares context between coding assistants. A single setup command installs it and configures supported clients and commands.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when installing, repairing, refreshing, or connecting Passoff to Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, or Codex.
Why use it?
They provide a repeatable setup path and avoid manually editing several client configuration files.

Instructions file for Claude CodeCodex

Written for Codex and Claude Code: reads ~/.codex or $CODEX_HOME, but also the file is CLAUDE.md. Also seen: mentions Claude Code; mentions Codex.

This is TheMrGU/Ai-Agent-Context-Passoff's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on Ai-Agent-Context-Passoff itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything Ai-Agent-Context-Passoff configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00248 $0.00248
Opus 5 $0.00124 $0.00124
Sonnet 5 $0.00050 $0.00050
Haiku 4.5 $0.00025 $0.00025

Security

Grade B, and why

Ai-Agent-Context-Passoff CLAUDE.md scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Reads agent configuration directoriesmediumAgent snooping

.claude/, .codex/, .gemini/ hold keys, settings and other credentials a mod has no legitimate need for.

What it actually says

Agent instructions for this repo

If the user asks you to install Passoff, set it up, wire it into MCP, or "make it work" — run a single command:

npm run setup

That script will:

  1. npm install (if needed) and npm run build
  2. Register the MCP server with Claude Code via claude mcp add (if the claude CLI is installed)
  3. Write/merge Cursor's ~/.cursor/mcp.json
  4. Write/merge Windsurf's ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json
  5. Write/merge Codex's ~/.codex/config.toml
  6. Install /passoff, /passoff-load, /passoff-list, and /passoff-search slash commands into Claude Code and Cursor (Codex uses the /passoff:create etc. namespace)

After it finishes, tell the user to restart each AI client to pick up the MCP server and the new slash commands.

Do NOT try to wire clients manually first. The setup script is idempotent — re-running it is the correct way to refresh a broken install.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
