Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.02430 | $0.02430 |
| Opus 5 | $0.01215 | $0.01215 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00486 | $0.00486 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00243 | $0.00243 |
Grade A, and why
maverick CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 159 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Project Overview
Maverick is a Claude Code plugin and Python CLI that enables autonomous AI-driven software development with enforced quality, security, and operational best practices. It has three components:
- Claude Code Plugin — markdown skills (in
skills/) and agents (inagents/) that define workflows, best practices, and execution patterns - Python CLI (
src/maverick/, aliased fromcli/) — project initialization, plugin management, and AWS infrastructure provisioning - Documentation (
docs/) — architecture, philosophy, and enforcement mechanisms
Build & Run Commands
# Install dependencies
uv sync
# Run CLI from source
uv run maverick --help
uv run maverick init --dry-run
# Install system-wide
uv tool install .
# Install in dev mode
uv tool install -e .
# Load plugin from local source for testing
claude --plugin-dir ./maverick-plugin
# Run integration tests
bash tests/integration/test_cli.sh
bash tests/integration/test_real_repos.sh
# Wire up local git hooks (one-time per clone). Installs:
# - pre-commit: auto-rebuilds skills/agents when src/ templates change
# - pre-push: runs `make lint typecheck test` + build-sync check
make install-hooks
# Create a release (two-phase: local prep + CI finalize)
# Phase 1 — run locally from the main branch:
./scripts/release.sh patch # or: minor, major
# This creates a release/<version> branch from main, bumps version, and opens a PR.
# Phase 2 — automatic after squash-merging the PR:
# CI tags main, creates GitHub Release, then opens a follow-up PR
# that bumps main to the next -dev version.
Architecture
Skills (skills/<name>/SKILL.md)
Markdown files with YAML frontmatter that define machine-readable workflows and best practices. Two categories:
- Best-practice skills (non-invocable): Universal standards for logging, alerting, linting, testing, CI/CD, git workflow, scope boundaries
- Workflow skills (user-invocable): Orchestrate multi-step processes —
do-issue-solo(autonomous from GitHub issue),do-issue-guided(interactive with checkpoints from GitHub issue),do-epic(autonomous epic-driven, parallel-wave dispatch),upskill(generate project-specific skills),maverick-alignment(codebase audit). All development work must originate from a GitHub issue — there is no local-file workflow.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

maverick CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository thermiteau/maverick (11 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 2,430 tokens to every session, about $0.0121 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
