tiger-salesforce-mcp-server: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

tiger-salesforce-mcp-server CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from timescale/tiger-salesforce-mcp-server. It costs 1,559 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for a server that connects coding agents to Salesforce, a customer-management platform. They cover how to build, run, test, format, validate, and organize the TypeScript code and Salesforce data.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing or releasing the server, adding tools, working with the Salesforce database schema, or changing its TypeScript code.
Why use it?
They give contributors one set of rules for dependable server changes, including input checking, error reporting, and safe shutdown. This avoids inconsistent code and unclear failures.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01559 $0.01559
Opus 5 $0.00779 $0.00779
Sonnet 5 $0.00312 $0.00312
Haiku 4.5 $0.00156 $0.00156

Measured 9d ago against content hash 3982daba769e, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

tiger-salesforce-mcp-server CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Tiger Salesforce MCP Server - Development Guidelines

Build, Test & Run Commands

  • Build: npm run build - Compiles TypeScript to JavaScript
  • Watch mode: npm run watch - Watches for changes and rebuilds automatically
  • Run server: npm run start - Starts the MCP server using stdio transport
  • Prepare release: npm run prepare - Builds the project for publishing

Code Style Guidelines

  • Use ES modules with .js extension in import paths
  • Strictly type all functions and variables with TypeScript
  • Follow zod schema patterns for tool input validation
  • Prefer async/await over callbacks and Promise chains
  • Place all imports at top of file, grouped by external then internal
  • Use descriptive variable names that clearly indicate purpose
  • Implement proper cleanup for timers and resources in server shutdown
  • Follow camelCase for variables/functions, PascalCase for types/classes, UPPER_CASE for constants
  • Handle errors with try/catch blocks and provide clear error messages
  • Use consistent indentation (2 spaces) and trailing commas in multi-line objects

Database Schema

All Salesforce data is stored in the salesforce schema. Note: case is a reserved word in PostgreSQL and must always be quoted as salesforce."case".

salesforce."case"

Primary support case entity.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
