Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.01169 | $0.01169 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00584 | $0.00584 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00234 | $0.00234 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00117 | $0.00117 |
Grade A, and why
az104-cert-buddy CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 86 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Repository Purpose
Content-only repository for an AZ-104 certification study buddy powered by GitHub Copilot agents. No application code, no build system, no tests. Artifacts are agent definitions, skill specs, prompt templates, and MCP server configurations.
Architecture
The az104-cert-buddy-agent (.github/agents/) orchestrates three auto-discovered skills (.github/skills/):
- az104-item-creator -- Exam-realistic practice questions with two-phase interactive delivery (question first, rationale after user answers). Supports "hint" and "skip" commands.
- az104-lab-creator -- 10-20 minute self-validating labs with validation gates and mandatory cleanup.
- az104-study-planner -- Personalized study plans based on confidence self-assessment across five AZ-104 skill areas.
Three prompt templates (.github/prompts/) provide slash-command entry points: /az104-practice-question, /az104-practice-lab, /az104-study-planner.
All content is grounded via a single MCP server: az104buddy-mslearn (https://learn.microsoft.com/api/mcp, free, no API key) providing microsoft_docs_search, microsoft_docs_fetch, and microsoft_code_sample_search.
A parallel AB-900 cert buddy implementation lives in reference/ as a template. Do not modify it when editing AZ-104 files.
Skill Discovery (Critical Gotcha)
GitHub Copilot does not support a skills: field in agent YAML frontmatter. Skills are auto-discovered from .github/skills/ folders based on name and description in SKILL.md frontmatter. The agent references skills by name in its Markdown body only.
Cross-Reference Dependencies
When renaming anything, update all dependents:
- Agent
namefield -> all.github/prompts/*.prompt.mdagent:fields - Skill
namefield -> agent Markdown body references - MCP server ID in
.vscode/mcp.json-> agent and prompttools:lists
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

az104-cert-buddy CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository timothywarner-org/az104-cert-buddy (22 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 1,169 tokens to every session, about $0.0058 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
