x-impact-checker: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

x-impact-checker CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from tonkotsuboy/x-impact-checker. It costs 506 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for X Impact Checker, a documentation-only Claude skill that evaluates X (formerly Twitter) posts for likely engagement using X's published recommendation rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Maintaining the skill's scoring guidance, algorithm references, project conventions, bilingual documentation, and improvement suggestions for posts.
Why use it?
They explain the project structure and evaluation approach so an assistant can update the skill consistently instead of treating it like ordinary application code.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00506 $0.00506
Opus 5 $0.00253 $0.00253
Sonnet 5 $0.00101 $0.00101
Haiku 4.5 $0.00051 $0.00051

Security

Grade A, and why

x-impact-checker CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

X Impact Checker is a Claude skill that analyzes X (Twitter) posts for viral potential based on X's official recommendation algorithm.

Purpose: Predict engagement and provide optimization suggestions before posting using X's official recommendation algorithm scoring system

Technology: Documentation-based skill (markdown only, no codebase)

Core Components

SKILL.md

Main skill logic with 3-tier scoring system (Core/Extended/Relationship Engagement + Negative Signals), evaluation criteria, and improvement strategies in ❌ Bad / ⚠️ Better / ✅ Best format.

algorithm-weights.md

Technical reference for X's algorithm: engagement signals, weight coefficients from weighted_scorer.rs, conditional logic (VQV threshold), and normalization.

Scoring Architecture

100-point system with penalty dampening:

Final Score = Base Score (0-100) + Penalties (-75 to 0)
Normalized = max(0, min(100, Final Score))

Key characteristics:

  • Reply (22 points) is highest weighted - conversation drives visibility
  • Multiple share types distinguished (general/DM/link copy)
  • Two dwell time types (initial read/continuous engagement)
  • Videos require 5+ seconds for full score (VQV condition)
  • Negative signals dampened to prevent over-penalization

Design Decisions

  1. Codeless architecture: Heuristic text analysis, not ML model
  2. Conservative scoring: Unknown elements get baseline scores
  3. Optimization-focused: Pre-publishing tool, not post-hoc analytics
  4. Language-agnostic: Detects input language, responds in same language

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
