toolsdk-mcp-registry AGENTS.md

toolsdk-mcp-registry AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from toolsdk-ai/toolsdk-mcp-registry. It costs 204 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Review instructions for a registry that stores configuration files for MCP tools, a standard way for AI agents to call external tools. They describe the checks and permissions required when reviewing pull requests, which are proposed code changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them to inspect, repair, validate, and—when explicitly authorized—squash-merge registry pull requests using trusted validation tools.
Why use it?
They help reviewers validate submitted JSON without running untrusted packages and prevent unauthorized pull-request changes. They also define the required merge method after approval.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00204 $0.00204
Opus 5 $0.00102 $0.00102
Sonnet 5 $0.00041 $0.00041
Haiku 4.5 $0.00020 $0.00020

Measured 6d ago against content hash d955882bc87d, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-05, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

toolsdk-mcp-registry AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Registry Agent Instructions

When reviewing or merging registry pull requests, follow docs/PR_REVIEW.md. Use .agents/skills/check-mcp-json/SKILL.md for the reusable review, repair, and squash-merge workflow and its read-only helper scripts.

  • Use the validator from the trusted main branch to inspect pull request JSON. Do not execute scripts from a contributor branch.
  • Never install or run an MCP package submitted by a pull request.
  • Never merge, enable auto-merge, close, comment on, or modify a pull request without the user authorizing that specific action.
  • Before an approved merge, refresh the pull request state and validation result.
  • Use squash merge. Never bypass checks with --admin.
  • Review pull requests in parallel when useful. PRs with pairwise-disjoint changed paths and registry identities may submit squash merges concurrently; retry GitHub's transient Base branch was modified rejection after another merge lands.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
