Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00374 $0.00374
Opus 5 $0.00187 $0.00187
Sonnet 5 $0.00075 $0.00075
Haiku 4.5 $0.00037 $0.00037

Measured 11d ago against content hash 16ea54cf3ce3, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

youtube-watchlater-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

CLAUDE.md

This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.

What This Is

An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that exposes a single tool get_watch_later to retrieve a user's YouTube Watch Later playlist via yt-dlp reading cookies from a local browser.

Runtime & Dependencies

  • Node.js with ES modules ("type": "commonjs" in package.json but server.mjs uses ESM syntax — run with Node directly)
  • External system dependency: yt-dlp must be installed and on $PATH
  • @modelcontextprotocol/sdk for MCP server/transport
  • zod for input schema validation

Running the Server

node server.mjs

The server communicates over stdio (MCP StdioServerTransport). It is intended to be registered as an MCP server in a host like Claude Desktop, not run standalone in a browser.

MCP Tool: get_watch_later

  • Input: browser (chrome/brave/edge/firefox), limit (1–500, default 50), profile (optional browser profile name)
  • Mechanism: Shells out to yt-dlp --cookies-from-browser <browser>[:<profile>] --flat-playlist --dump-json --playlist-end <limit> https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=WL
  • Output: JSON array of { videoId, title, url, channel } objects

Architecture

The entire server is server.mjs — a single file with no routing layer, database, or config files. The only abstraction is runYtDlp(args) which wraps execFile in a Promise.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
