okf-generator copilot-instructions.md

okf-generator copilot-instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from UmairBaig8/okf-generator. It costs 481 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for using an OKF knowledge bundle, a generated set of documentation files describing code concepts and their relationships.

In plain words
What is it for?
They help retrieve details for one concept, a whole source file, or code filtered by type, programming language, or package ecosystem.
Why use it?
They require looking up documented functions, classes, and dependencies before reading source files, which gives agents structured context for the codebase.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00481 $0.00481
Opus 5 $0.00241 $0.00241
Sonnet 5 $0.00096 $0.00096
Haiku 4.5 $0.00048 $0.00048

Measured 6d ago against content hash 5af289a9f016, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-05, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

okf-generator copilot-instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

OKF Knowledge Bundle — Copilot Instructions

CRITICAL RULE: Never read source files directly for context

This project uses okf-generator to produce an OKF v0.2 knowledge bundle at ./okf_bundle/. The bundle contains structured markdown files — one per function, class, module, and dependency.

BEFORE reading or editing any source file, you MUST run:

okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle <ConceptName>

This returns signature, parameters, docstring, dependencies, callers, and callees in milliseconds — faster and more accurate than reading the source file.

Common lookups

# Single concept full detail
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle ClassName

# All concepts from one source file
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --file path/to/source.py

# Filter by type
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --type Class
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --type Function
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --type Dependency

# Filter by language
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --tag lang:python
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --tag lang:typescript
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --tag lang:go

# Filter by ecosystem
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --tag ecosystem:pip
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --tag ecosystem:npm
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --tag ecosystem:cargo

# JSON output for programmatic use
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --json <Name>

# Dependencies (all or by ecosystem)
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --type Dependency
okf lookup --bundle ./okf_bundle --type Dependency --tag ecosystem:pip --compact

Seeing what changed between bundles

okf diff ./okf_bundle.bak ./okf_bundle --compact
okf diff ./okf_bundle.bak ./okf_bundle --json

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
