Project-specific coding instructions for an MCP server, a program that exposes tools to AI clients, which connects to Berlin's public-transport API.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when working on TypeScript tools for Berlin stops, departures, arrivals, journeys, vehicle locations, and related API requests.
Why use it?
They provide the project context and coding rules needed to add or maintain transport tools consistently and safely.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00341 $0.00341
Opus 5 $0.00170 $0.00170
Sonnet 5 $0.00068 $0.00068
Haiku 4.5 $0.00034 $0.00034

Measured 7d ago against content hash e25c6b2a39f0, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade C, and why

mcp-bvg copilot-instructions.md scanned grade C with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Hidden instructionshighPrompt injection

Directives inside HTML comments, invisible characters or bidirectional overrides are read by the model and not by the person reviewing the file.

What it actually says

Copilot Instructions

This is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server project in TypeScript for consuming the BVG Berlin Transport API.

You can find more info and examples at https://modelcontextprotocol.io/llms-full.txt

Additional reference: https://github.com/modelcontextprotocol/create-python-server

Project Context

This MCP server provides tools to interact with the BVG (Berlin Public Transport) API at https://v6.bvg.transport.rest/api.html

Available API endpoints include:

  • /locations - Search for stops, addresses, and POIs
  • /locations/nearby - Find nearby stops and POIs by coordinates
  • /stops - Get stops by query or list all stops
  • /stops/:id - Get stop details by ID
  • /stops/:id/departures - Get departures at a stop
  • /stops/:id/arrivals - Get arrivals at a stop
  • /journeys - Plan journeys from A to B
  • /trips/:id - Get trip details by ID
  • /radar - Find vehicles in an area with movement data

Code Style Guidelines

  • Use TypeScript with strict type checking
  • Follow the MCP SDK patterns for tool definitions
  • Use Zod schemas for input validation
  • Implement proper error handling for API calls
  • Include descriptive tool names and descriptions
  • Use proper JSDoc comments for functions
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
