urantia-dev-api: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

urantia-dev-api CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from urantia-hub/urantia-dev-api. It costs 4,240 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project instruction document for the Urantia Papers API, a backend service that provides religious text, search, audio, user notes, bookmarks, reading progress, preferences, and shared sign-in services. It also records the service’s technology choices, dependency versions, and production-testing rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when working on the Urantia API’s content, search, user data, authentication, dependencies, or production tests.
Why use it?
It gives an agent the project boundaries and technical rules needed to make changes without adding unrelated features to this service.

Instructions file for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: the file is CLAUDE.md.

This is urantia-hub/urantia-dev-api's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on urantia-dev-api itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything urantia-dev-api configures →

Not installable: its command points at a path on the author’s own machine, so it runs nowhere else. The line is /Users/kelsonic/.claude/plans/whimsical-yawning-sketch.md.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.04240 $0.04240
Opus 5 $0.02120 $0.02120
Sonnet 5 $0.00848 $0.00848
Haiku 4.5 $0.00424 $0.00424

Measured 5d ago against content hash 34d5504d4fb6, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

urantia-dev-api CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

urantia-dev-api

AI/developer-first API for the Urantia Papers — the hub product's backend service.

Scope of this service

This service owns Papers content (text, paragraphs, entities, search, audio) and the hub product's per-user data (bookmarks, notes, reading progress, preferences). It also hosts the shared OAuth infrastructure (/auth/* — app registry, auth codes, token exchange) because that was the natural first home for it.

This is NOT a catch-all backend for every Urantia app. Other product apps get their own services with their own databases:

  • urantia-listen-api/ — Listen app (audio transcripts, semantic hits, streaming insights)
  • future product apps — same pattern

All backends validate tokens issued by accounts.urantiahub.com, but each owns its own schema, migrations, deploy, secrets, and data retention rules. Don't bolt new product features onto this repo just because the auth middleware is already wired up — stand up a new service.

Tech Stack

  • Runtime: Bun
  • Framework: Hono + @hono/zod-openapi
  • ORM: Drizzle
  • Database: Supabase (Postgres + pgvector)
  • Validation: Zod v4
  • Linting: Biome

Dependency and toolchain pins

  • bun.lock is the ONLY lockfile. A stale leftover yarn.lock sat here until 2026-08-19 and kept 51 Dependabot alerts open after the real deps were fixed — GitHub scans every lockfile it finds. Never add a second one.
  • wrangler pinned exact 4.73.0 — 4.124+ requires Node 22 and this machine runs Node 20. Bumping it breaks bun run deploy locally.
  • @biomejs/biome pinned exact 2.4.7 — 2.5.x changes formatting rules and flags untouched files. Bump it only together with a deliberate repo-wide bun run format.
  • overrides.yaml forces the patched transitive yaml version.
  • Known baseline (pre-existing, not regressions): 4 typecheck errors in test files and 43 Biome lint errors. Compare against this baseline before blaming a change.

Testing against production

bun test runs the Hono app in-process with the real .env, which points at the production database. The unit/middleware suites and the content integration suites (papers, toc, search, root, mcp, tools) are read-only and safe. The auth/me suites can write; run them only deliberately.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
