Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00669 | $0.00669 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00334 | $0.00334 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00134 | $0.00134 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00067 | $0.00067 |
Grade A, and why
search-before-build AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 32 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Repository Guidelines
Project Structure & Module Organization
This repository is a dual-agent skill package, not a compiled application. .claude-plugin/plugin.json and .codex-plugin/plugin.json expose the two shared workflows in skills/: search-before-build-assess evaluates ideas and search-before-build-compare examines existing work. Their internal candidate-research workflow lives in references/research-method.md; source-specific rules live in the other files under references/. The one-time installer is scripts/setup-github-mcp.mjs; the temporary result viewer is rendered by scripts/render-report.mjs from assets/report-viewer.html. Keep shared skill instructions platform-neutral. tests/validate_plugin.py checks structure and behavioral invariants. Persisted reports are optional and belong in docs/search-before-build/<topic>/<competitor>.md only after an explicit user request.
Build, Test, and Development Commands
There is no build step. Run these commands from the repository root:
claude plugin validate --strict .
python tests/validate_plugin.py
claude --plugin-dir /path/to/search-before-build
The first command validates the Claude manifest and skill metadata. The second checks both manifests, skill boundaries, reference files, and report structure. The third loads the Claude package for an interactive smoke test. Invoke /search-before-build:search-before-build-assess <idea> or /search-before-build:search-before-build-compare <path> after loading it. Validate the Codex manifest with Codex's plugin validator before publishing a Codex marketplace entry.
For a focused local check, pass one or more contract groups to the Python validator: package, skills, github, or report. Running it without arguments remains the full validation entrypoint.
Coding Style & Naming Conventions
Use UTF-8, LF line endings, four spaces for Python, and two spaces for JSON indentation. Skill directories and names use lowercase kebab-case. Keep SKILL.md instructions imperative, concise, and plain-language. Refer to package resources by their package-relative path, such as references/research-method.md; do not use a host-specific root variable. Put reusable detail one level deep in references/. Do not add product-management jargon or infer competitor capabilities from names, popularity, or search snippets.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
