agent-memory-engine CLAUDE.md

Contributor instructions for Agent Memory Engine, a project that stores and retrieves useful development knowledge through MCP tools. MCP is a standard way for AI clients to connect to tools and data.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when starting development, inspecting indexed knowledge, checking memory status, refreshing project knowledge, or recording a completed and verified task.
Why use it?
They require agents to retrieve relevant project history before coding and record verified lessons afterward, reducing repeated mistakes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00456 $0.00456
Opus 5 $0.00228 $0.00228
Sonnet 5 $0.00091 $0.00091
Haiku 4.5 $0.00046 $0.00046

Measured 3d ago against content hash 460106c6233c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

agent-memory-engine CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

agent_memory_engine — Claude 工作规范

Memory Engine MCP

调用 mcp__memory-engine__retrieve_agent_context,传入当前任务描述、branch 和 head commit:

current_branch: <当前分支>

  • mcp__memory-engine__inspect_knowledge — 需要查看特定源文件片段时调用,比直接 Read 更快定位已索引内容。
  • mcp__memory-engine__inspect_memory — 当 retrieve 返回的某条 memory 摘要不够详细时,展开查看完整内容。
  • mcp__memory-engine__refresh_project_knowledge — 新增或大幅修改文件后调用,保持索引同步。
  • mcp__memory-engine__memory_status — 怀疑引擎状态异常时检查。

调用 mcp__memory-engine__reflect_and_write,条件:

  • 测试通过(verification_status: tests_passed
  • 构建成功(build_success
  • 人工确认(manual_check

verification_status: tests_passed | build_success | manual_check
current_branch: <分支>
head_commit: <commit SHA>
changed_files: [<修改的文件列表>]

ToolSearch: select:mcp__memory-engine__retrieve_agent_context,mcp__memory-engine__reflect_and_write,...
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

agent-memory-engine CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository uudam42/agent-memory-engine (123 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 456 tokens to every session, about $0.0023 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
