razor: Instructions file for Claude Code

AGENTS.md

razor AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode from V-Songbird/razor. It costs 1,227 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository-specific instructions for benchmark runners, datasets, measurement tests, and experiments in the Razor project. They define where benchmark and maintenance files belong.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when changing Razor's tests, benchmarks, datasets, experiments, or related maintenance files.
Why use it?
They prevent benchmark material from being placed in the wrong directory and keep temporary maintenance output separate from the project files.

Written for Claude Code and Codex and OpenCode: ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT} variable, but also the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: mentions .claude-plugin; mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions subagents.

This is V-Songbird/razor's own configuration. It tells Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode how to work on razor itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything razor configures →

Runs only inside a plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else, and the catalogue could not identify which plugin ships it.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01227 $0.01227
Opus 5.5 $0.00491 $0.00491
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00245 $0.00245
Haiku 4.5 $0.00123 $0.00123

Security

Grade A, and why

razor AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 58 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

razor

razor is one plugin for Claude Code, Codex and Antigravity: a checklist before new code and a few checks behind it, so a small task stays small. Its hooks and scripts are dependency-free Node.js and run with Node.js 22 or later and Git; there is no install or build step. This repository is Foundry's razor submodule and ships from main.

Start here

Rules that outrank everything

  • One package serves the three hosts. Shared checks live outside the host adapters, and a new hook event needs an entry in hooks/hooks.json, hooks/codex-hooks.json and, when Antigravity has the event, the root hooks.json.
  • The three manifests, .claude-plugin/plugin.json, .codex-plugin/plugin.json and plugin.json, carry the same version, changed together; the suite fails when they differ. Foundry's catalogs carry no version for razor and only move source.sha.
  • razor never edits code, manifests or lockfiles and never grants a permission; every check is a message to the assistant.

Commands

Command Purpose Cost
node --test tests/*.test.js The suite Local fixtures inside the plugin root; fails from a checkout under the system temp directory
node scripts/git-hooks/check-readme-nav.js The root README has its nav, and every heading anchor linked from a tracked Markdown file resolves Local
node scripts/build-windows-launchers.js --write After editing hooks/windows-launcher.ps1 or a hook in hooks/codex-hooks.json, regenerate that file's commandWindows launchers; the suite fails naming the first stale one Local
claude plugin validate . Claude Code package shape Local
agy plugin validate . Antigravity package shape Local; needs the Antigravity CLI
git config core.hooksPath scripts/git-hooks One-time: the pre-commit hook runs the suite and the nav check Local

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
