AGENTS.md

xweather-agent-skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode from vaisala-xweather/xweather-agent-skills. It costs 2,355 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for five Xweather developer skills covering weather APIs, map images, JavaScript maps, Apple maps, and webhooks. Xweather is a weather-data and mapping platform.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when building Xweather API requests, static maps, JavaScript or Apple map integrations, or webhook workflows.
Why use it?
They give agents consistent rules for using the platform, working in the repository, and keeping its plugin manifests synchronized.

Instructions file for Claude CodeCodexOpenCode

Written for Claude Code and Codex and OpenCode: Claude Code plugin machinery, but also the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: names the AskUserQuestion tool; mentions Claude Code; mentions Codex.

This is vaisala-xweather/xweather-agent-skills's own configuration. It tells Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode how to work on xweather-agent-skills itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything xweather-agent-skills configures →

Needs its repository: it reads a path above its own folder, which exists only inside the repository. The line is python3 scripts/regenerate_mapsgl_android_layers.py --sdk ../mapsgl-android-sdk.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02355 $0.02355
Opus 5 $0.01177 $0.01177
Sonnet 5 $0.00471 $0.00471
Haiku 4.5 $0.00235 $0.00235

Security

Grade A, and why

xweather-agent-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Xweather API & Maps — agent skills

This repository packages six Agent Skills for the Xweather developer platform. They are provider-neutral: any skills-compatible agent can load them, and the same content also ships as plugins for Claude Code and OpenAI's ChatGPT and Codex plugin surfaces.

The skills

Skill Use it for
plugins/xweather/skills/weather-api/ Building data.api.xweather.com request URLs — every endpoint, all 8 actions, filters, query syntax, and access-cost reporting
plugins/xweather/skills/raster-maps/ Building maps.api.xweather.com URLs — static map images and XYZ tile templates across the full layer catalog, with map-unit cost reporting
plugins/xweather/skills/mapsgl/ The MapsGL JavaScript SDK (@xweather/mapsgl) — controllers, weather layers, styling, expressions, legends, timeline animation, session cost
plugins/xweather/skills/mapsgl-apple/ The MapsGL SDK for Apple platforms — install channels, MapboxMapController/MapLibreMapController, WeatherService.LayerCode layers, SwiftUI and UIKit setup, paint, expressions, legends, timeline, session cost
plugins/xweather/skills/mapsgl-android/ The MapsGL Android SDK (com.xweather.mapsgl) — AAR/JitPack install over the Mapbox Maps SDK for Android, MapboxMapController, LayerCode/WeatherService layers, StyleValue/Expression styling, custom sources and layers, legends and the data inspector, timeline, session cost
plugins/xweather/skills/webhooks/ Pushed data delivery — receiver design, securing the endpoint, retry and idempotency behaviour, registration

Each skill is a directory with a SKILL.md, plus references/ for detail loaded on demand and scripts/ for the two helper programs. Read a skill's SKILL.md when a task matches its description; pull in references/ files only as needed — several are large.

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
