kbtz: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

kbtz CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from virgil-king/kbtz. It costs 135 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Project instructions for kbtz, including its development workflow and plugin versioning rules. A pull request is a proposed code change that is reviewed before it is merged.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when modifying kbtz or files under its plugin directory, to follow the required pull-request process and update both plugin version records with the appropriate semantic version.
Why use it?
They reduce mistakes when contributing changes, especially accidentally merging directly into the main branch or leaving plugin version numbers out of sync.

Written for Claude Code: Claude Code plugin machinery.

This is virgil-king/kbtz's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on kbtz itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything kbtz configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00135 $0.00135
Opus 5 $0.00068 $0.00068
Sonnet 5 $0.00027 $0.00027
Haiku 4.5 $0.00014 $0.00014

Measured 8d ago against content hash 30c6c937a3e7, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

kbtz CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

kbtz

Workflow

All changes must be submitted as pull requests. Never merge directly to main without a PR.

Plugin versioning

When modifying any file under plugin/, bump the plugin version in both:

  1. plugin/.claude-plugin/plugin.json — the "version" field
  2. .claude-plugin/marketplace.json — the "version" field for the kbtz-tools entry

Both files must have the same version. Use semver (MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH): bump PATCH for fixes, MINOR for new features or non-breaking changes, MAJOR for breaking changes.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
