CorgiBreak: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

CorgiBreak CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from VolodymyrM27/CorgiBreak. It costs 650 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for building CorgiBreak, a macOS menu bar app that reminds users to follow the 20-20-20 eye-care rule. They explain how to generate the Xcode project and build or run the app.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when changing CorgiBreak, especially after adding or removing files, changing source code, regenerating the Xcode project, or checking a Release build.
Why use it?
They give the coding agent the project context and exact build commands, including which Xcode tool to use. This reduces failed builds caused by using the wrong developer tools or skipping project generation.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00650 $0.00650
Opus 5 $0.00325 $0.00325
Sonnet 5 $0.00130 $0.00130
Haiku 4.5 $0.00065 $0.00065

Security

Grade A, and why

CorgiBreak CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

CorgiBreak is a macOS menu bar app that implements the 20-20-20 eye care rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. During breaks, a fullscreen blurred overlay appears with an animated pixel corgi and a countdown timer. Users can skip breaks with Esc or the Skip button.

Build Commands

The project uses XcodeGen to generate the Xcode project from project.yml. The system xcodebuild may point to Command Line Tools instead of Xcode.app, so use the full path:

# Generate .xcodeproj from project.yml
xcodegen generate

# Build (uses Xcode.app's xcodebuild directly)
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/xcodebuild \
  -project CorgiBreak.xcodeproj \
  -scheme CorgiBreak \
  -configuration Release \
  -derivedDataPath build \
  build

# Run
open build/Build/Products/Release/CorgiBreak.app

# Kill running instance
pkill -x CorgiBreak

After code changes: regenerate the project with xcodegen generate if files were added/removed, then rebuild. If only modifying existing files, rebuild is sufficient.

Architecture

App lifecycle: SwiftUI MenuBarExtra (menu bar-only app, no dock icon via LSUIElement=true in Info.plist). AppDelegate disables sudden termination and prevents quit-on-last-window-close.

Timer flow: TimerManager (ObservableObject) drives everything — a 1-second Timer ticks down from 20:00. At zero, it creates an OverlayManager which spawns borderless NSWindows at .screenSaver level on every screen. After 20 seconds (or skip), windows are removed with orderOut (not close, which would terminate the app).

Overlay rendering: BreakView (SwiftUI) is hosted inside each NSWindow via NSHostingView. It layers a VisualEffectView (NSVisualEffectView wrapper for blur) + semi-transparent black + the break UI content.

Pixel corgi: PixelCorgi loads pre-extracted PNG frames from the bundle (8 animations: jump, idle1, idle2, sit, walk, run, sniff, sniffwalk). Frames are extracted from Resources/corgi-asset.png sprite sheet using scripts/extract_frames.py (requires Pillow). A random animation is chosen each break, with continuous bounce.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
