CLAUDE.md

streamersonglist-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from vuvuvu/streamersonglist-mcp. It costs 812 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for a Node.js Model Context Protocol server that connects Claude Desktop and other compatible clients to the public, read-only StreamerSongList API.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing or testing the server, managing its packages, configuring Claude Desktop, or working with its StreamerSongList API integration.
Why use it?
It explains how to install, test, start, and configure the server without needing to discover the repository's setup rules first.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00812 $0.00812
Opus 5 $0.00406 $0.00406
Sonnet 5 $0.00162 $0.00162
Haiku 4.5 $0.00081 $0.00081

Security

Grade A, and why

streamersonglist-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Development Commands

Testing and Running

  • npm test - Run MCP protocol validation tests using the custom test harness
  • npm start - Start the MCP server manually for testing (listens on stdio)
  • npm run setup - Automatically configure Claude Desktop integration

Package Management

  • npm install - Install dependencies
  • node src/server.js - Direct server execution (same as npm start)

Architecture Overview

This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides tools for interacting with StreamerSongList APIs. The server integrates with Claude Desktop and other MCP-compatible clients.

Note: This server targets public, read-only endpoints of the StreamerSongList API. All implemented tools use real API responses (no simulated data). See docs/API_TESTING_REPORT.md for details.

Key Dependencies

  • @modelcontextprotocol/sdk@^1.20.0 - MCP protocol implementation
  • undici@^7.16.0 - Modern fetch API implementation for Node.js

Server Architecture

  • Single-file implementation: src/server.js (955 lines) contains the entire server
  • Dynamic SDK loading: Smart resolution with fallback paths for different installation scenarios
  • Environment configuration: Supports DEFAULT_STREAMER for convenient queue tool usage
  • MCP Protocol: Uses stdio transport for communication with Claude Desktop

Available Tools (all real API data)

  • getStreamerByName — GET /v1/streamers/{name}
  • getQueue — GET /v1/streamers/{name}/queue
  • getSongs — GET /v1/streamers/{name}/songs
  • searchSongs — Client-side filtering over getSongs
  • getSongDetails — Client-side selection from getSongs
  • monitorQueue — Polls getQueue at intervals

Environment Variable Support

  • DEFAULT_STREAMER — default streamer when streamerName is omitted (overridable via CLI --streamer)
  • SSL_API_BASE — override API base (default https://api.streamersonglist.com/v1)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
