Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00764 | $0.00764 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00382 | $0.00382 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00153 | $0.00153 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00076 | $0.00076 |
Grade A, and why
claude-senator-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Claude Senator Architecture Notes
Current Implementation: Directory-Based IPC
Claude Senator uses a minimal, zero-dependency file-based approach for inter-Claude communication:
Architecture
/tmp/claude-senator/
├── instances/ # Each Claude writes {pid}.json with status/info
├── messages/ # Individual message files in JSONL format
└── commands/ # Command injection files for input manipulation
Benefits
- Zero dependencies: Only Node.js built-ins (fs, path, os, child_process)
- No concurrency conflicts: Each Claude owns its files (no shared writes)
- JSONL format preserved: Native Claude messaging format
- Auto-cleanup: Files removed when Claude instances exit
- Cross-platform: Works on any Unix-like system with /tmp
Performance Characteristics
- 2-20 Claudes: Excellent performance, <10ms operations
- 20-100 Claudes: Good performance, minimal filesystem overhead
- 100+ Claudes: May benefit from SQLite upgrade (see below)
Current Status
- ✅ Directory structure and session management implemented
- ✅ Message passing via individual JSONL files
- ✅ Instance discovery via process filtering + file registry
- ✅ Automatic cleanup of dead instances and old messages
- 🔧 Testing inter-Claude communication in progress
Future Consideration: SQLite Upgrade
If directory-based approach hits performance limits, upgrade to SQLite with better-sqlite3:
When to Consider SQLite
- Message delivery >1 second due to filesystem overhead
- Complex querying needs (message history, advanced routing)
- Transaction safety requirements for message delivery
- Scaling beyond 100+ concurrent Claude instances
SQLite Benefits
- Performance: 2000+ queries/second, excellent concurrency
- ACID transactions: Guaranteed message delivery, no corruption
- Native JSONL support: Built-in JSON functions for Claude messages
- Mature technology: Battle-tested, widely used
Implementation Plan
npm install better-sqlite3 # Single dependency
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

claude-senator-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository Vvkmnn/claude-senator-mcp (1 stars, last pushed 6mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 764 tokens to every session, about $0.0038 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (runs shell commands). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
