Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00979 $0.00979
Opus 5 $0.00490 $0.00490
Sonnet 5 $0.00196 $0.00196
Haiku 4.5 $0.00098 $0.00098

Measured 10d ago against content hash 8dbc3a346c7b, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

awesome-finance-skills CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What This Repo Is

An open, community-curated collection of Claude Code finance skills — prompt files (.md) organized into a taxonomy of finance categories. Skills can be installed as Claude Code slash commands, copy-pasted into any Claude interface, or used as system prompts via the API.

The README skill index is auto-generated from skill frontmatter by scripts/update_readme.py. Never hand-edit the tables between <!-- SKILLS:{category}:START --> and <!-- SKILLS:{category}:END -->.

Scripts

Setup

pip install -r requirements.txt
# API key goes in .env.local:
echo "ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=sk-..." > .env.local

Generate the next skill from the queue

python scripts/generate_skill.py

Reads scripts/skill_queue.yaml, calls claude-sonnet-4-6 to produce the skill file, saves it to the correct skills/ path, and moves the topic from pending to completed in the queue.

Rebuild the README index

python scripts/update_readme.py

Scans all skills/**/*.md frontmatter and regenerates the category tables and skill-count badge in README.md.

GitHub Actions (automated)

The workflow .github/workflows/daily-skill-update.yml runs both scripts daily at 9 AM UTC and commits the result. It can also be triggered manually via workflow_dispatch.

Skill File Format

Every skill lives at skills/<category>/<subcategory>/<skill-name>.md (lowercase, hyphenated). For agent-style skills with supporting files, use a directory: skills/<category>/<subcategory>/<skill-name>/SKILL.md.

Required frontmatter

---
name: Human-readable skill name
description: One sentence describing what this skill does
category: category/subcategory # must match the taxonomy exactly
tags: [tag1, tag2, tag3]
author: your-github-username
source: https://original-url # omit if you wrote it yourself
license: MIT

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
