webweaver-mcp-server: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

webweaver-mcp-server CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from webweaver-nexus/webweaver-mcp-server. It costs 1,649 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A set of instructions for Claude Code, an AI coding assistant, working on a WebWeaver Nexus Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. MCP is a standard way for AI applications such as Claude Desktop or ChatGPT to use tools provided by another service.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing or maintaining the server, its three exposed tools, its HTTP or command-line connection modes, or its browser form application.
Why use it?
It gives the coding assistant the project's architecture, editing rules, commands, verification checks, and known limitations in one place. This reduces guesswork when changing a server with both a backend and an embedded browser interface.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01649 $0.01649
Opus 5 $0.00825 $0.00825
Sonnet 5 $0.00330 $0.00330
Haiku 4.5 $0.00165 $0.00165

Security

Grade A, and why

webweaver-mcp-server CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Makes network callslowCapability

Not a fault in itself. Listed so you know the mod talks to something, and to what.

- **No tests.** Verification is via the README's `curl` checks and the basic-host harness from `ext-apps/examples/basic-host`.

Project Overview

MCP server that exposes WebWeaver Nexus's services to external AI hosts (Claude Desktop, claude.ai custom connectors, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) — not consumed by our own landing page or by the Python support agent. Three tools: join_waitlist (MCP App with embedded Tally form UI), get_product_overview, get_contact_info. Production: https://webweaver-nexus-mcp.vercel.app/mcp.

For the WebWeaver Nexus product context (this repo's role within Tier 3), see ../CLAUDE.md and ../README.md at the parent folder.

Architecture

Two-process model, communicating across the MCP wire protocol:

  • Server (Node + Express + MCP SDK) — registers tools and resources, handles JSON-RPC over Streamable HTTP (or stdio).
  • Client App (browser, runs in an iframe inside the MCP host)src/mcp-app.ts + mcp-app.html + CSS, bundled by Vite + vite-plugin-singlefile into a single self-contained dist/mcp-app.html. Served back to the host as a resource on resources/read.

No shared types between server and client. They communicate over the MCP protocol (JSON-RPC + postMessage via @modelcontextprotocol/ext-apps). Don't try to import across the boundary.

Server: one core, two entry points

  • server.tscanonical tool/resource registration. Exports createServer(). This is the only place tools are defined.
  • main.ts — local-dev entry. Supports --stdio or HTTP on PORT (default 3001). Imports createServer().
  • api/mcp.ts — Vercel serverless entry. Exports the Express app as default. Imports createServer(). Hardcodes allowedHosts (localhost + production domain) and uses StreamableHTTPServerTransport per-request (no session reuse).

When fixing a tool bug, edit server.ts — the change picks up in both entry points. When fixing a transport/CORS/routing bug, identify which entry point it affects.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
