ai-research-skills: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

ai-research-skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from WenyuChiou/ai-research-skills. It costs 516 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of code-review instructions for maintaining a catalog of agent skills and related marketplace files. It requires checking the actual change and keeping source versions and file relationships consistent.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for reviewing catalog, marketplace, documentation, script, test, and integration changes in the ai-research-skills repository.
Why use it?
It helps reviewers catch mismatched files, floating source references, and changes that violate the repository's contracts.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00516 $0.00516
Opus 5.5 $0.00206 $0.00206
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00103 $0.00103
Haiku 4.5 $0.00052 $0.00052

Security

Grade A, and why

ai-research-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Code Review Rules

This repository is a catalog index; skill content lives in upstream source repositories. Keep the existing CONTRIBUTING.md; this file supplements it. These rules apply only while conducting code review. They do not replace implementation or publication instructions or valid authorization for other tasks.

  • Review the actual diff at the stated base and head, then route by changed path: catalog/skills.yml, .claude-plugin/marketplace.json, test-corpus/integration/upstream-contracts.json, docs/, scripts/, or tests/. Read the relevant existing contract and its immediate producers and consumers; do not treat this catalog repo as the upstream skill source.
  • For catalog and marketplace entries, bind source identity and version to the immutable commit or other exact identity required by the current contract. Check that catalog pins, marketplace source/ref, plugin manifest, and source layout agree; a floating name or current branch is not immutable evidence.
  • For batch routing and cross-skill integration changes, follow the declared dependency graph and check producer/consumer artifact paths and formats together, including the applicable contract in test-corpus/integration/upstream-contracts.json. A fixture pass establishes only the behavior exercised by that fixture, not host loading or research quality.
  • For installation and source-checking changes, inspect trusted-source constraints, dry-run behavior, argument quoting/escaping, and failure paths. A dry run or static manifest check does not establish a real host install.
  • For Windows shell behavior, distinguish Git Bash from WSL; evidence from one environment must not be presented as validation of the other. The repository's current CI scope is Ubuntu; do not claim Windows CI coverage without an actual Windows run and its evidence.
  • For generated or bilingual assets, compare the source and generated outputs for semantic parity and exact path/identity references. Keep offline checks distinct from live source access and live host behavior.
  • Findings must identify a concrete path and line/symbol, trigger, consequence, and evidence. Separate confirmed defects, hypotheses, and verification gaps; omit style-only preferences and use the platform's required finding format.
  • A review task itself does not modify code, install dependencies, start paid models, or merge. Every PR merge needs separate explicit user consent after the user receives the review summary, actual test status, and remaining gaps.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
