Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Grade B, and why
banana-image-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

.claude/, .codex/, .gemini/ hold keys, settings and other credentials a mod has no legitimate need for.
- JSON clients use `mcpServers`; Codex uses `~/.codex/config.toml` (`[mcp_servers.banana-image]`), edited via surgical block replace (preserves other sections/comments) with `smol-toml` for validation/detection How it starts

Project Overview
This is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that provides a tool for generating blog cover images. It integrates these services:
- Google Gemini AI - Image generation from text prompts
- Sharp - Image processing (resize, WebP conversion, compression)
- Qiniu Cloud or Aliyun OSS - CDN storage for generated images (configurable via
UPLOAD_PROVIDER)
The main export is generate_blog_cover() which orchestrates the full pipeline: generate → compress → upload → cleanup.
Architecture
MCP server (index.js):
- Exposes three MCP tools:
generate_blog_cover,generate_image,upload_image - Uses ES modules (import/export syntax)
- Temporary files stored in system temp directory (
os.tmpdir()/banana-image-mcp/) - File naming:
YYYYMMDD-{slug}.webp - Two optional ways to reach Gemini: a forward proxy (undici
setGlobalDispatcherfor the SDK's globalfetch;https-proxy-agentfor axios downloads) viaPROXY_URL, or a reverse-proxy gateway viaGEMINI_BASE_URL+GEMINI_EXTRA_HEADERS(SDKhttpOptions.baseUrl/headers)
Config wizard (cli-setup.js):
- Loaded lazily when the binary is invoked as
banana-image-mcp setup - Interactive readline prompts; multi-select one or more targets (Claude Code / Claude Desktop / Cursor / Codex / custom JSON path), writes/merges the
banana-imageentry into each, backing up existing files first - JSON clients use
mcpServers; Codex uses~/.codex/config.toml([mcp_servers.banana-image]), edited via surgical block replace (preserves other sections/comments) withsmol-tomlfor validation/detection
History (history-store.js + cli-history.js):
- Every tool call is appended to
~/.banana-image-mcp/history.jsonl(time, tool, status, size, duration, url, error, model/aspectRatio/imageSize) viarunWithHistory()inindex.js— logging failures never break the tool banana-image-mcp historyrenders a paginated, colorized table (columns: #, time, result, tool type, model, size, duration, url/error; latest first; ↑/↓ paging in a TTY)
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

banana-image-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository xinpengfei520/banana-image-mcp (0 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 1,450 tokens to every session, about $0.0072 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (reads agent configuration directories). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
