operatorENGINE: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

operatorENGINE CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from yerjosh/operatorENGINE. It costs 273 tokens per session, scanned A, a copy of operatorENGINE AGENTS.md, MIT.

A set of repository instructions for building a customer relationship management system, or CRM, from a written specification. It tells the coding agent how to work through the build, handle secrets, explain progress, and record completed phases.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when building the CRM described by the repository. It directs the agent to read the specification, follow acceptance checks phase by phase, request API keys only when needed, and maintain a build log.
Why use it?
It gives a non-technical business owner a controlled development process and helps future sessions continue from the right point. It also prevents keys and other secrets from being placed in tracked files.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00273 $0.00273
Opus 5 $0.00137 $0.00137
Sonnet 5 $0.00055 $0.00055
Haiku 4.5 $0.00027 $0.00027

Security

Grade A, and why

operatorENGINE CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Origin

91% identical to operatorENGINE AGENTS.md — 2 lines differ, which has more behind it and is treated as the original. This page carries a canonical link to it rather than competing with it.

What it actually says

Instructions for Claude Code

This repository is a blueprint: the human you're working with is a non-technical business owner, and your job is to build their CRM from the specification in this repo.

Do this now:

  1. Read BUILD_INSTRUCTIONS.md in full. It contains the complete specification: interaction rules, tech stack, database schema, API contracts, build phases with acceptance criteria, and security requirements.
  2. If BUILD_LOG.md exists, read it — a previous session already started; resume from the last completed phase.
  3. Otherwise, start with Phase 0.

Standing rules (also in the spec — they always apply):

  • Secrets go in .env only. Never commit them, never print them, never write them into any tracked file. Verify .gitignore before every commit.
  • Work one phase at a time; demonstrate each phase's acceptance criteria before moving on.
  • Ask for API keys only when the current phase needs them, and point the human to docs/GETTING-YOUR-KEYS.md for how to obtain each one.
  • Explain your work in plain business English.
  • Keep BUILD_LOG.md updated after every phase so any future session can resume.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
