poster-grid-inspector: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

poster-grid-inspector AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from Ygria/poster-grid-inspector. It costs 1,183 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for coding agents working on Poster Grid Inspector, a tool that analyzes the layout grid of a poster image. It describes the repository, commands, architecture, and conventions for its TypeScript web app, command-line tool, and installable agent skill.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing, testing, or reviewing the Poster Grid Inspector web app, CLI, server, or agent skill.
Why use it?
They explain how the project is structured and how to run checks, development servers, and image analysis. This gives an agent the context needed to make compatible changes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01183 $0.01183
Opus 5 $0.00592 $0.00592
Sonnet 5 $0.00237 $0.00237
Haiku 4.5 $0.00118 $0.00118

Security

Grade A, and why

poster-grid-inspector AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md

Guidance for AI coding agents working in this repository. Read this before modifying code.

What this repo is

A model-agnostic poster grid analysis tool. The installable skill uses the host model's native vision capability by default. Its optional web/CLI mode sends a poster image to a vision model (OpenAI or any OpenAI-compatible provider), gets back the layout's grid system, parameters, detected elements, keylines, and analysis — then renders the grid overlaid on the image and can export it as SVG guides or CSS Grid / Tailwind code.

It ships as an installable agent skill (SKILL.md) plus a runnable web app / CLI.

Commands

npm run setup # install deps + copy .env.example → .env (never edit .env.example with real keys)
npm start # run the web server (http://localhost:8787)
npm run dev # tsx watch (auto-reload)
npm run analyze -- <image> [--summary] # CLI analysis, no server needed
npm run typecheck # tsc --noEmit

TypeScript is run directly with tsx (no build step). .js in import paths maps to .ts.

Architecture

  • server.ts — Express entry: express.json({limit:'25mb'}), static public/, analyzeGridRouter, GET /health.
  • server/routes/analyzeGrid.tsPOST /api/analyze-grid route (validates imageBase64, calls analyzePoster, maps AiError → HTTP).
  • server/ai/analyzePoster.ts — orchestration: cache → provider call (timeout + 1 retry) → normalize → validate → return { data, meta }.
  • server/ai/providers/openai.ts — Responses API (/responses, input_image, strict json_schema). openaiCompatible.ts — Chat Completions (/chat/completions, image_url, json_object/json_schema, optional enable_thinking). http.tsfetch wrapper.
  • server/ai/config.ts.envAiConfig. Remote analysis is blocked unless AI_REMOTE_ANALYSIS=1; getAiConfig() then throws if AI_API_KEY is missing.
  • server/ai/schema.tsPOSTER_ANALYSIS_JSON_SCHEMA + runtime validatePosterAnalysis.
  • server/ai/normalize.ts — strip JSON fences, clean coordinates, migrate systemNameKosystemName.
  • server/ai/cache.ts — in-memory Map; key = sha256(image + provider + model + promptVersion + schemaVersion).
  • public/index.html — self-contained frontend (no bundler): upload → analyze → overlay → export.
  • src/ — shared types (posterVision.ts), client helpers (visionImage.ts, analyzeGridApi.ts, gridScoring.ts).

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
