acumatica-mcp-server: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

acumatica-mcp-server CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from yourlastnamesoundslikeatypeofpasta/acumatica-mcp-server. It costs 319 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for an MCP server that connects coding agents to Acumatica, an enterprise resource planning system used for business records such as orders, bills, and payments. They document development commands, security rules, and how to verify the remote server.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing or deploying the Acumatica MCP server, checking its tools, handling credentials, and reviewing changes that can modify ERP data.
Why use it?
They prevent common maintenance mistakes, such as checking only a local copy when the live server is remote, exposing tenant credentials, or adding unsafe write operations.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00319 $0.00319
Opus 5 $0.00160 $0.00160
Sonnet 5 $0.00064 $0.00064
Haiku 4.5 $0.00032 $0.00032

Security

Grade A, and why

acumatica-mcp-server CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

acumatica-mcp-server — Claude Code notes

Python MCP server for Acumatica ERP: 8 generic tools over any tenant's contract-based REST API. Source in src/acumatica_mcp/, packaged with setuptools (pyproject.toml), published as the acumatica plugin's remote backend.

Commands (verified 2026-08-15)

  • Syntax gate: every .py edit is byte-compiled automatically (PostToolUse hook).
  • Install dev: pip install -e .
  • Run local: python -m acumatica_mcp (reads .env — see .env.example)

Rules this repo earned

  • Remote vs local: the PRODUCTION server runs remotely (AcumaticaRuviraRemoteMCP scheduled task). Analyzing or editing the local checkout says nothing about what is live — after any deploy, re-list tools from a client and verify the new behavior (a session once analyzed the local server while the remote was the one misbehaving).
  • Auth: tenant credentials live in .env / the remote host's environment. Never print them; never commit .env. Pause and ask for manual auth rather than entering credentials anywhere.
  • Write tools are gated — keep it that way. Any new tool that mutates ERP state needs the same gating/audit treatment as the existing write tools.
  • Version bumps: pyproject.toml version + CHANGELOG.md entry together.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
