foundation-base: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

foundation-base AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from zcaudate-xyz/foundation-base. It costs 5,572 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for Foundation Base, a Clojure project that uses its own test framework instead of Clojure’s standard one.

In plain words
What is it for?
They are for running all or selected tests and writing tests with the project’s fact and arrow-assertion style.
Why use it?
They prevent developers from running the wrong test commands or writing tests with unsupported syntax.

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md.

This is zcaudate-xyz/foundation-base's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on foundation-base itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything foundation-base configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.05572 $0.05572
Opus 5 $0.02786 $0.02786
Sonnet 5 $0.01114 $0.01114
Haiku 4.5 $0.00557 $0.00557

Security

Grade A, and why

foundation-base AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Testing Framework

IMPORTANT: This project uses a custom testing framework (code.test), NOT the standard clojure.test.

How Tests Work

  • The lein test command is aliased in project.clj to run code.test (via :aliases {"test" ["run" "-m" "code.test"]})
  • This is NOT the standard Leiningen test runner - it's a custom test framework with different behavior
  • Tests are defined using (fact ...) macros and => assertions, not deftest and is

Running Tests

# Run all tests (Warning: ~930 tests, may take several minutes)
lein test

# Run a specific test namespace (RECOMMENDED)
lein test :only code.doc-test
lein test :only std.lib.collection-test

# Run tests matching a namespace pattern
lein test :with code.doc
lein test :with std.lib

Test Syntax

Tests use the fact macro and => arrow assertions:

^{:refer my.namespace/function-name :added "3.0"}
(fact "description of what this tests"
  (function-name arg1 arg2)
  => expected-result)

Fact IDs: one :refer per namespace, or use :id

A fact's id is derived from its :refer metadata (fact-id in code.test.base.runtime). Two facts in the same namespace with the same :refer collide: the later one overwrites the earlier one in the registry, and the earlier fact never runs — the suite still reports green, just with fewer checks. install-fact now prints a WARNING code.test: fact ... will NOT run line at load time when this happens; never let those warnings stand in a namespace you own (many pre-existing ones remain elsewhere in the tree).

  • Keep to one fact per :refer per namespace (the existing convention), or
  • give every fact a unique explicit id: ^{:refer my.ns/fn :id test-my-fn-2}.

To prove a test file's assertions actually execute, temporarily break one expectation and confirm the run fails (the summary line shows FAILED L:<line>), then revert. Don't trust the passed-check count alone.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
