Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01343 $0.01343
Opus 5 $0.00672 $0.00672
Sonnet 5 $0.00269 $0.00269
Haiku 4.5 $0.00134 $0.00134

Security

Grade A, and why

tapwisper-desktop copilot-instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Copilot Instructions -- TapWisper Desktop

This file provides context for GitHub Copilot and GPT-based coding assistants.

Project Summary

TapWisper Desktop is an open-source, system-wide voice dictation tool with AI, built with Electron 33, React 19, TypeScript 5.7, and Tailwind CSS 3.4. It supports multiple AI providers (Gemini, Together AI, OpenAI, Claude) and voice providers (Together Whisper, Soniox).

Architecture

Three Electron processes:

  • Main (src/main/) -- system tray, global shortcuts, window management, IPC handlers, clipboard, audio recording, permission checking, SQLite database, config store
  • Preload (src/preload/) -- context bridge exposing window.tapwisper.* API to the renderer
  • Renderer (src/renderer/) -- React UI with Tailwind CSS, Zustand state, Framer Motion animations

Path alias: @/ maps to src/renderer/.

Coding Conventions

File Naming

  • kebab-case for all files: my-component.tsx, use-audio.ts
  • PascalCase for component exports: export function MyComponent()
  • camelCase for hooks, utilities, variables: useAudio, formatDuration

TypeScript

  • Never use any -- use proper type definitions
  • interface for object shapes, type for unions and intersections
  • Shared types in src/renderer/models/ or src/renderer/types/
  • Prefix unused parameters with _

React

  • Functional components only -- no class components
  • Extract reusable logic into hooks in src/renderer/hooks/
  • Use React.lazy() for overlay components
  • Hash-based routing for multi-window rendering

Styling

  • Tailwind CSS utility classes only -- no custom CSS unless necessary
  • Theme colors via CSS variables from src/renderer/styles/globals.css

Internationalization

  • All user-facing strings use useTranslation() from react-i18next
  • Add translations to all 6 locale files in src/renderer/i18n/ (en, ar, de, es, fr, it)

Formatting (Prettier)

  • No semicolons
  • Single quotes
  • No trailing commas
  • 100 character print width
  • 2-space indentation
  • LF line endings
  • Always use parentheses around arrow function parameters

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
