.github/copilot-instructions.md

awesome-zig copilot-instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from zigcc/awesome-zig. It costs 138 tokens per session, scanned A, original, CC0-1.0.

A set of pull-request review instructions for an Awesome Zig list. It requires checking the request description and code changes against maintenance, formatting, ordering, build, and attribution requirements.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for reviewing pull requests, checking required contribution steps, and reporting problems with the submitted change.
Why use it?
It turns the list's contribution rules into specific review findings. This makes it easier to identify missing requirements without treating old entries as new violations.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00138 $0.00138
Opus 5.5 $0.00055 $0.00055
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00028 $0.00028
Haiku 4.5 $0.00014 $0.00014

Security

Grade A, and why

awesome-zig copilot-instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Pull request review instructions

When reviewing a pull request, inspect both the pull request description and the diff. Comment when any of these requirements are not satisfied:

  • The entry is actively maintained and useful.
  • The entry follows the awesome list style guide.
  • The entry is added to the end of the existing list.
  • The author ran make all locally.
  • Exactly one AI Attribution option is selected for the new entry.

Treat an unchecked required template item as a review finding. For each finding, explain the specific requirement and point to the relevant pull request content or diff. Do not report the absence of an AI tag on historical entries as a violation.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
