zig-lsp CLAUDE.md

zig-lsp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from zircote/zig-lsp. It costs 341 tokens per session, scanned B, original, MIT.

A set of Claude Code instructions for Zig development in the zig-lsp project. Zig is a programming language, and ZLS is its language server, which provides editor features such as code understanding and checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when working on this Zig project to install or build Zig and ZLS, configure the language server, run setup, and apply the documented formatting and verification hooks.
Why use it?
It gives the coding agent project-specific setup and conventions, while automated hooks can format Zig files and run compilation and quality checks after changes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00341 $0.00341
Opus 5 $0.00170 $0.00170
Sonnet 5 $0.00068 $0.00068
Haiku 4.5 $0.00034 $0.00034

Measured 3d ago against content hash d1500dca6732, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade B, and why

zig-lsp CLAUDE.md scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

What it actually says

CLAUDE.md

This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.

Project Overview

A Claude Code plugin providing Zig development support through ZLS (Zig Language Server) integration and automated hooks for formatting, compilation checks, and code quality.

Setup

Run /setup to install all required tools, or manually:

# macOS
brew install zig zls

# Or build from source
git clone https://github.com/zigtools/zls
cd zls
zig build -Doptimize=ReleaseSafe
sudo cp zig-out/bin/zls /usr/local/bin/

Key Files

File Purpose
.lsp.json ZLS LSP configuration
hooks/hooks.json Automated development hooks
commands/setup.md /setup command definition
.claude-plugin/plugin.json Plugin metadata

Hook System

All hooks trigger afterWrite. Hooks use command -v checks to skip gracefully when optional tools aren't installed.

Hook categories:

  • Formatting (**/*.zig): zig fmt
  • Compilation (**/*.zig): zig build check, zig ast-check
  • Quality (**/*.zig): TODO/FIXME detection

Conventions

  • Prefer minimal diffs
  • Keep hooks fast (use --check for formatting, limit output with head)
  • Documentation changes: update both README.md and commands/setup.md if relevant
  • Use zig fmt for all code formatting (enforces standard Zig style)
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
