Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5 | $0.01626 | $0.01626 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00813 | $0.00813 |

Grade A, and why
appstore-cli CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 115 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
appstore-cli — Agent Notes
Working on the CLI or the bundled MCP server. Stays here when this package is in a monorepo; ports cleanly when extracted to its own repo.
What this package is
A TypeScript CLI + MCP server for App Store Connect. Two binaries from one codebase:
appstore— interactive CLI (commander.js)appstore-mcp— Model Context Protocol server (stdio)
Both wrap src/client.ts, which wraps the appstore-connect-sdk (Apple's official OpenAPI surface).
Layout
| Module | Purpose |
|---|---|
src/index.ts |
CLI entry — registers commands from commands/ |
src/auth.ts |
Loads appstore-config.yaml, builds JWT auth context |
src/client.ts |
All SDK calls. Single source of truth for ASC operations |
src/project.ts |
getProjectRoot() / getWorktreeRoot() via git |
src/paths.ts |
Configurable path resolver (getIapYamlPath() etc.) |
src/types.ts |
YAML schema types (IAPMetadata, ListingMetadata, etc.) |
src/commands/ |
One file per command group: listings, iap, screenshots, previews, custom-pages, builds, read |
src/mcp/server.ts |
MCP server — reuses client.ts, no duplication |
Rules
src/client.tsis the only file that calls the SDK. Add new ops there, not inside command files.- Don't shell out from the MCP server. Import
createClientand call its methods directly. The in-tree wrappers in some downstream projects do shell out; that's a separate compatibility layer, not the pattern for this package. - All path resolution goes through
paths.ts. Never hardcodel10n/metadata/apple/...— usegetIapYamlPath(),getListingsDir(),getListingPath(locale),getScreenshotsOrderPath(). The defaults match Lazy Sudoku's layout, but downstream projects override viaappstore-cli.config.yaml. - Don't import from
auth.tsfor git roots. Useproject.tsdirectly to avoid circular imports. - Dry-run is the default for destructive operations.
iap migrate-pricesrequires--confirm;iap syncaccepts--dry-runfor the safe path. Match this when adding new write commands. - YAML is the source of truth.
iap exportoverwrites the file.iap pullis the additive merge — it never overwrites local values, only fills gaps. Pick the right one when writing. - British spelling throughout (colour, localisation, etc.). Apple's API uses American (
localization,color); convert at the boundary.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

appstore-cli CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository zmij/appstore-cli (0 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 1,626 tokens to every session, about $0.0081 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
