What is reverse-geocoding?

A remote service that converts WGS84 latitude-and-longitude coordinates into an administrative location identifier chain. WGS84 is the common coordinate system used by GPS and most online maps.

Use it to turn GPS or map coordinates into the corresponding administrative location identifiers.

It avoids manually matching coordinates to administrative areas. The result provides the location hierarchy associated with a coordinate.
