What is mcp-file-tools?

A filesystem service for reading and writing text files in encodings other than standard UTF-8, including several Windows, Cyrillic, East Asian, and UTF-16 formats.

Use it to inspect or edit files with unknown or non-UTF-8 encodings while retaining their original encoding and formatting.

It prevents text corruption when files use a legacy encoding, byte-order mark, or line-ending style that ordinary tools may not preserve.
