A lightweight Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for safe Obsidian vault access
MCPVault is a local Model Context Protocol server that lets compatible AI clients read, search, and edit notes stored in an Obsidian vault. It is for users who want coding agents and other supported clients to work with their vault while restricting file access to its configured root. The catalogue entries provide add-ons for using MCPVault with AI coding agents.
These files are bitbonsai/mcpvault's own configuration. They tell Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode how to work on this repository, so they are not mods to install elsewhere. Copy one as a starting point and replace the parts that are about this project.
