nanochat is a small experimental codebase for training and running language models, covering tokenization, pretraining, fine-tuning, evaluation, and inference. Researchers and developers use it to train GPT-style models on a single GPU node and interact with them through a command line.
These files are karpathy/nanochat's own configuration. They tell Claude Code how to work on this repository, so they are not mods to install elsewhere. Copy one as a starting point and replace the parts that are about this project.
