krouter-obsidian

krouter-obsidian is a cursor rule for coding agents from 398894496-arch/runtime36. It costs 209 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A routing rule for questions that depend on an Obsidian vault, a folder of linked notes and files. It sends those questions through KRouter Obsidian and checks the vault's stored knowledge before answering.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when answering questions about vault state, durable project knowledge, past decisions, or saved working methods.
Why use it?
It helps preserve project history, preferences, corrections, and reusable methods instead of relying only on the current conversation.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00209 $0.00209
Opus 5 $0.00105 $0.00105
Sonnet 5 $0.00042 $0.00042
Haiku 4.5 $0.00021 $0.00021

Measured 4d ago against content hash 3fade60aa876, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

krouter-obsidian scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

When a question depends on durable preferences, corrections, project history, reusable methods, or vault state:

  1. Set OBSIDIAN_VAULT to the vault root.
  2. Follow ~/.agents/skills/krouter-obsidian/SKILL.md.
  3. Run ~/.agents/skills/krouter-obsidian/scripts/route_knowledge.sh status first.
  4. If the receipt has host_action:, tell the host that line (paste *_API_KEY on the vault key page, or log in grok / official Codex / claude). Do not print secrets. Then continue the user's question.
  5. Run route_knowledge.sh for the needed route. If canonical_match: true, cite that canonical_source. Do not invent a parallel dashboard note. If it is a miss with suggestions:, retry one suggested alias once.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
