Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |

Grade A, and why
backend-testing scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 145 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Backend Testing Guidelines
The shared philosophy (no vi.mock except unavailable third parties, reusable mock helpers, Arrange/Act/Assert, no vitest imports) lives in the testing-philosophy rule. Below are the backend specifics.
Core Philosophy
Feature module tests (features/<domain>/modules/<feature>/index.ts) are INTEGRATION TESTS.
They use real DB (Postgres), real cache (Valkey), real storage (S3/RustFS) from the test Docker environment.
They create real data via db/mutations/ functions, query it back, and verify the full flow.
Everything runs real:
- Database queries/mutations — real Postgres from Docker
- Valkey operations — real Valkey from Docker
- S3/Storage operations — real RustFS from Docker
- Internal feature logic, helpers, utils, channels — all real
Only third-party SaaS without a local equivalent is mocked. Currently mocked:
- Resend (external SaaS — email sending), via the reusable helper in
src/testing/mocks/resend.mock.ts
New third-party mocks go in src/testing/mocks/ as reusable helpers.
Unit tests are ONLY for:
- Pure utility functions with no side effects
- Schema validation logic
- Mapping/transformation functions
- Sub-components of features (not the main
index.ts)
Setup Architecture
- Global (
src/testing/setup/setup.ts): loads.env.test, setsNODE_ENV=test. Runs for every test. - Integration (
setupIntegrationTest()fromsrc/testing/setup/test-utils.ts): connects to real Postgres, Valkey, S3. Call at top of integration test files.
import { setupIntegrationTest } from "@backend/testing/setup/test-utils";
const env = setupIntegrationTest();
beforeEach(async () => {
await env.flushAll();
});
File Structure
- Feature integration tests:
features/<domain>/modules/<feature>/index.test.ts(next to source) - Cross-feature integration tests:
features/<domain>/__tests__/<flow>.integration.test.ts - Unit tests (utils, schemas, sub-components only):
{filename}.test.tsnext to source
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

backend-testing is a cursor rule published in the GitHub repository BetterTyped/hype-stack (12 stars, last pushed 15d ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 1,095 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.

python_tests
We use the unit tests to cover internal behavior that can work without the web / backend counterpart. We aim for 95%+ unit test coverage of our Python code in lib/streamlit.

// ✅ CORRECT: Upgrade package pattern await using ctx = testReactResource(appRouter, { server: { // server configuration }, client(opts) { return { links: [ httpLink({ url: opts.httpUrl, // client configuration }), ], }; }, }).
