Fork-Join Inside verus!
In Mt files, all fork-join parallelism lives inside verus! using join() directly with named closures. Never create external_body wrappers around join() or ParaPair!.
The Pattern
- Build owned data for each branch (clone, split, subseq_copy).
- Capture ghost views before the
move. - Define named closures with explicit
ensuresreferencing the ghost views. - Pass them to

Why This Works
join()is alreadyexternal_bodywith verified spec propagation — it requiresfa.requires(())and ensuresfa.ensures((), result.0).- Named closures with explicit
ensurespropagate specs throughjoin(). - Ghost variables are spec-level (always Copy) — they survive
movecaptures. - The closure body is verified at definition time with the full ambient context.
- Add
decreaseson the recursive function for termination through closures.
Do NOT
- Do NOT create
external_bodywrappers aroundjoin()— it IS the verified fork-join primitive. Wrapping it adds a trust boundary for no reason. - Do NOT put fork-join code outside
verus!— code outside has no specs. - Do NOT use
Arcto share data between closures. Move owned copies directly. - Do NOT use inline closures (
move || foo()) — their ensures don't propagate. Always bind to a named variable with explicitensures.
