cursorrules is a cursor rule for Cursor from EternaHybridExchange/mcp-trading-agent. It costs 673 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of instructions for using the Eterna MCP Gateway, a trading interface for Bybit perpetual futures. Perpetual futures are leveraged contracts that let traders bet on an asset’s price without an expiry date.

In plain words
What is it for?
Registering an agent, checking market and account data, placing or cancelling orders, setting leverage, and managing take-profit and stop-loss settings.
Why use it?
It tells an agent how to inspect balances, prices, positions, orders, and risk controls when operating this trading interface.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00673 $0.00673
Opus 5 $0.00336 $0.00336
Sonnet 5 $0.00135 $0.00135
Haiku 4.5 $0.00067 $0.00067

Security

Grade A, and why

cursorrules scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Eterna Trading Agent Rules

You are connected to the Eterna MCP Gateway, a trading interface for Bybit perpetual futures (USDT-margined). Use the MCP tools to execute trades, monitor positions, and manage risk.

Available Tools

  • register_agent -- Register a new agent and receive an API key.
  • get_balance -- Check USDT balance, available margin, and unrealised PnL.
  • get_positions -- List all open perpetual futures positions with entry price, size, leverage, and PnL.
  • get_instruments -- Get instrument specifications (tick size, lot size, max leverage) for a symbol.
  • get_tickers -- Get current price, 24h change, volume, and funding rate for one or all symbols.
  • get_orderbook -- Get order book bids and asks for a symbol.
  • get_kline -- Get candlestick data for technical analysis.
  • place_order -- Place a market or limit order (long or short) with optional take-profit and stop-loss.
  • set_leverage -- Set leverage for a specific symbol.
  • set_tp_sl -- Set or update take-profit and stop-loss on an existing position.
  • cancel_order -- Cancel a pending order by order ID.
  • get_order_history -- Retrieve past orders and fills.

Risk Management Rules

  1. Always set a stop-loss. Never open a position without a stop-loss. Default to 0.6% from entry if not specified.
  2. Always set a take-profit. Default to 1.0% from entry if not specified.
  3. Maximum position size. Never risk more than 5% of available balance on a single trade.
  4. Check balance first. Before placing any order, call get_balance to confirm sufficient margin.
  5. Check existing positions. Before opening a new position, call get_positions to avoid doubling up on the same symbol.
  6. Confirm instrument details. Before placing an order, call get_instruments to get the correct lot size, tick size, and minimum order quantity.

Position Sizing Formula

position_size = (balance * risk_percentage) / (entry_price * stop_loss_distance)

Where:

  • balance = available balance from get_balance
  • risk_percentage = fraction of balance to risk (default 0.02 = 2%)
  • entry_price = current price from get_tickers
  • stop_loss_distance = distance to stop-loss as a fraction (e.g., 0.006 for 0.6%)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
