Code Quality

Style

• async/await for asynchronous operations
• JSDoc on public methods
• Use this.log.* / adapter logging — never console.log in production code
• Tabs, double quotes (see prettier.config.mjs)
• ESLint via @iobroker/eslint-config (eslint.config.mjs) — run npm run lint after every change; CI treats warnings as errors (--max-warnings 0)

Resource cleanup

Stop polling, timers, and tracker in onUnload(); always call callback():

Error handling

• Wrap async/API work in try/catch; log errors, do not crash the adapter
• Use adapter log levels: error, warn, info, debug
• Handle network failures gracefully; set info.connection accordingly
• HTTP 401 from Life360 → treat as expired token; set info.connection false, log warning
• Do not retry failed API calls in a tight loop — wait for the next poll cycle

HTTP

• Preferred: native node:https (used in lib/life360CloudConnector.js)
• Avoid: axios, request, or other HTTP libraries

Dependencies

• Use npm ci in CI; commit package-lock.json with package.json
• Use @iobroker/adapter-core; avoid deprecated packages
• Update dependencies in separate PRs only
• Prefer built-in Node.js modules where possible
