supabase

supabase is a cursor rule for Cursor from kleosr/kleosrules. It costs 243 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of Supabase database rules for row-level security, authentication, service keys, and connection pooling. Supabase is a hosted database and application platform built around PostgreSQL.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when a project uses Supabase to guide security policies, authenticated queries, views, service-role usage, and pooler-aware connections.
Why use it?
It helps prevent users from seeing other tenants' rows, keeps privileged service keys out of browser code, and avoids unsafe database connection patterns in serverless applications.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00243 $0.00243
Opus 5.5 $0.00097 $0.00097
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00049 $0.00049
Haiku 4.5 $0.00024 $0.00024

Security

Grade A, and why

supabase scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Supabase

Apply when this repo uses Supabase (client, CLI, or supabase/ paths); otherwise this file is inert. Composable with postgres.mdc (generic SQL there, RLS/auth/pooler here).

Hard

  • Tenant isolation follows the repo's model (often RLS + auth.uid()). Verify with negative tests: unauthenticated access, cross-user/tenant read, cross-user/tenant write, privileged backend paths, and views/functions that change privilege. No app-only WHERE user_id = guard without a matching policy.
  • Views: security_invoker = true on PG15+ when the intended model is invoker rights. Avoid SECURITY DEFINER to bypass RLS; allow it only with a safe search_path, least privilege, and review.
  • Service role never ships in client bundles. User JWT for user data.
  • Pooler-aware connections. No connection-per-request in serverless without the pooler.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
